My work is primarily designed to be placed in the garden and is therefore high fired to resist damage by frost but that doesn’t mean you can’t place them anywhere you like. Vessels that have no function other than to compliment your flowerpots, Red Devils to be placed on walls and ward off whatever you want kept away. Next-door’s cat? No promises!
The Nest Eggs, well they’re not designed for the garden but they are designed to help you save. The traditional piggybank was designed so that you had to break it to get the money out and so too my Nest Eggs, but dexterity with a knife may enable you to get out the odd penny without having to break the egg.
I have just started work on a new series entitled ‘Mother Love’ which will be ready for the Summer Open Studios. Watching my granddaughter with her children has inspired these somewhat abstract sculptures. Trying to capture the tenderness that I observe as I remember my own feelings of wonder.
