My current work is an exploration of the connections between geology and landscape; the geological reality that underpins natural history and the world of man.
Mine is a conceptual and physical exploration. My paintings of Cyprus, Italy and Pembrokeshire are not paintings of places, but evocations of place. They are not recreations of a certain moment, but an evocation of the moment.
I work at the interface between figuration and abstraction, using layers of paint of varied textures, to mirror the stratas of geological time.
